The U.S. company Virgin Hyperloop plans to launch a commercial use of capsules to travel at speeds of up to 1,200 kilometers per hour in 2027. There is already a travel tunnel in the desert state of Nevada.
Timeline for 1200-kilometer-per-hour travel capsules has been announced
The capsules will move at ultra-high speeds through near-vacuum tunnels using magnetic levitation. The creators say that from the passenger’s point of view, it will be like an airplane taking off as it picks up speed.
One capsule is designed for 28 people and can be adapted for both short and long distances. The creators believe that the introduction of such capsules will be as revolutionary as the appearance of cars, trains and planes.
Virgin Hyperloop plans to develop the first passenger routes in India, where the transportation system is overloaded, and in Saudi Arabia, where there is no normal transportation infrastructure
